Welcome to my blog, “One Good Learn Deserves Another!” I’m Dr. Ronda Cypret-Mahach, an Associate Professor and Department Head for Initial Teacher Education at Lindenwood University. As an educator with years of experience, I’ve seen the power of deep thought, critical thinking, and learning from our life experiences. That’s why I decided to start this blog – to share my insights and experiences with others who are also on a journey of continuous learning and growth.
At the heart of this blog is the idea that “one good learn deserves another.” What does that mean exactly? It means that every time we learn something new, we open ourselves up to more learning opportunities. Each new piece of knowledge we acquire builds on what we already know and helps us develop a deeper perspective on the world around us.
Throughout my career as an educator, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of roles, including teaching Kindergarten, coordinating technology programs, serving in leadership and administrative roles, and serving as a university professor. These experiences have taught me that every student has unique needs and strengths and that effective teaching requires constant innovation and adaptation.
My research has also focused on professional development practices that support teachers as they develop critical thinking skills and foster positive relationships with their students. I’ve conducted studies on topics such as K-12 virtual teaching and learning, course design for teacher candidates, and the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on education.
But as important as research and academia are, my true passion lies in helping students become confident, effective teachers who can inspire and motivate their own students. I believe that every student has the potential to learn and grow and that it’s our job as educators to help them realize that potential.
